Digital X-Rays
X-rays are an essential part of any dental treatment. Using x-rays, also known as radiographs, allows dentists to find cavities, have a closer look at the tooth roots, and check bone health to mention a few.
Our office is equipped with state-of-the-art digital x-ray equipment. Instead of developing conventional X-ray film in a dark room, the X-rays are readily available on the computer. They can be viewed, stored, or printed out.
Amongst the many advantages of digital x-ray technology are: less exposure to radiation, elimination of the waiting time, and reduction of the number of visits as the images are available right after being taken. Another nice feature is the ability to zoom in the image and magnify it several folds which makes it easier to isolate the problems if any. One more extremely important feature is the ability to compare current and previous images using a technique called subtraction radiography. The procedure enables the dentist to see any minute changes.
